Hello friend

Why is it that when you do something you really like, you reward yourself. But when you end up fucking yourself over, you do not punish yourself. Today’s quick post is about the importance of punishing yourself.

You’re probably well aware of pavlov’s training procedure at this point. Who isn’t. He relied very much on punishing bad behavior and rewarding good behavior. It worked tremendously well. Which is why his name is still spoken about to this day.

The more you reward yourself, the greater chance you keep doing things that will make you want to reward yourself. This creates a self fulfilling prophecy where you’re constantly striving to reward yourself by engaging in activities that make you reward yourself.

This is why it comes as no surprise that the more you punish yourself for failing to do something you set out to do, the less likely you are too keep failing what you set out to do.

Punishments are not a fun thing. So once you set out to accomplish something and you don’t end up doing it, the punishment you give yourself should make it that you’re much more likely to perform well in the future.

The majority of people do not punish themselves when they fuck up. Which is why they fuck up much more regularly. The majority of people even end up rewarding themselves when they fuck up.

Have you ever missed a day from your workout routine? And now since you’ve already missed a day, you also decide to eat a cheat meal. You fucked up by missing a workout routine, yet instead of punishing yourself for that, you reward yourself by eating whatever you want.

This makes it much more likely that you will end up repeating this blunder again.

The way to make sure that doesn’t happen again is by punishing yourself.

You miss a workout day. Now to punish yourself, instead of working out for an hour tomorrow, you’re going to work out for two hours with triple the intensity until you throw up. The makeup workout session will be so painful that you’re not going to miss another regular workout because you know the pain you’ll subject yourself to if you do.

Punishments are an important key in making you stronger and much more capable of achieving your goals.

A reward is having something to work towards and a punishment is having something to work to avoid happening. The greater the reward, the more work you put into achieving it. The greater the punishment, the more you put in making sure you avoid it.

When you decide to punish yourself or even reward yourself for that matter. Make sure they they are very much worth it.

Make the punishment so painful to complete that it makes you never want to fail because the cost of the punishment is much more painful that the fear of failure.

Make your rewards so good and alluring that you’d do anything you can to achieve those rewards. Don’t go easy on your punishments or rewards.

With that, I am punishing myself really hard at the gym tomorrow for skipping on leg day today. So instead of a challenging chest workout. I am going to turn it into a deadly chest and leg workout. I’ll probably going to be crawling home tomorrow.

To achieve great things, you have to be willing to do great things.

Until next time
Your man about to serve a brutal punishment
